go with some bright colors if thats the kind of person you are,
and decorate from there..
Or you could also get accessories and furniture/pick it out first and then decide your colors from there.

try to keep the cement walls, because they look retro. Add modern lighting and furniture. A comfortable rug is a must. I would also include a T.V and some beanbags etc. Try to stay consistent and organised.(Fill it with a few nice things rather than many crappy ones)

get a couple big sectional couches, then lay down carpet with a buch of pillows on the ground to have a place to lay down comfortably, put in a good sized TV, some video games if your into that, pool table, some artwork on the walls or maybe some movie posters, paint the walls an earthy tone if you want it a really chill place, or a bright blue or red if you want it bright and fun

try create as much open space as you can like if you can get a sofa down there then stick against a wall, painting would be a good idea but if you don’t want to paint it then just stcik loads of stuff up it’s always good having things to look at, take a t.v down there and a games console of some sort. Get like an orange light bulb so it has a nice warm feeling and some fairy lights as well they always look good.

Get some cool, comfy furniture. Find a TV: big screens are great, but if you don’t want to pay that much you could try a smaller one. Make sure you have some tables and things to do. Make sure that the room’s not crowded, but that it has enough furniture. For really great room remodels, watch HGTV (you have to pay extra.) We remodeled our playroom into a lounge, it turned out pretty great.

If you’re using tile, make sure it’s something durable and not too ugly. Cover the area with comfortable rugs.
If you’re using carpet, make sure it’s something darker and neutral and relatively durable. You want it to last a long time and not need vaccumming all the time.
Couches and armchairs as well as a television with a DVD player can add a good place for "hanging out" and conversation.
Games like foozeball, pingpong, and pool also provide entertainment.
If you plan on eating down there, think about a minifridge and a microwave for popcorn.

you could have a big lounge couch. If your a kid, you might want like a game station like a xbox, or ps2. You could have cool retro tables, and a snack area. you could have a computer too. A tv wouldnt be a bad idea either

oohhh!!! you definately need to watch HGTV or Style! i hope you have cable lol.. but if u watch those shows you can get BRILLIANT ideas! i love stuff like this.. but yeah. paint the walls a cool color and put some couches in there that go with the wall- not the same color but you know.. and put some picture art on the wall. i think vibrant colors are fun if you are going to turn it into like an entertainment area.. look up HGTV or Style network on the internet. i’m sure they got TONS of ideas!

Ok I saw this totally awesome basement remodel on a budget in a magazine and I want to do it with my own basement. If you are up for a cool hang out with a modern/industrial feel. What they did is take Sheet Metal Roofing you know like a metal roof but in steel they put that across the bottom and but a finish on it to give it a shine. used really bright carpet tiles which are so easy to install and easy to change out if you get a stain. Then on the top they took just cheap plywood stained it with a high gloss and used a used metal roofing edging as the trim between the two. It looked so neat. Then for the ceiling it had drywall with recessed lighting but you could do a drop ceiling. Then they built a bar and used the metal for it too. For tables they used plywood added legs stained it and took old board games and glued them to the top and but a high gloss clear finish on them. They had huge posters like classic moive stars and wine etc hanging on the wall. It was a neat mix but looked so good. If you are interested send me a message I’ll scan the pictures for you.

put a futon or a couch with a pull out bed (added sleeping room is great)
add a bar (entertainment)
Pool tables cost a lot so save up for that but try getting air hockey or fuse ball or hockey bubbles,, dart boards are cheaper
set up a tv with every gaming consule you own Nintnedo sage.. playstation xbox ect…
also get bean bags or other types of seating area’s
and a small table or icecream nook set so you can have a tine place to eat if desired!
a poker table is sweet too if you play cards!
do a theme of old classics dont’ matter if it’s music movies or tv shows just put something that wasn’t released in 2000 even 1990′s push it some! but you can be the judge of that!
or go with a game theme have the suits like spades clubs painted on the wall and have lots of mirrors!!
Good luck most importantly have fun or the room won’t be fun!
