Many non-experts say you can lay over lino, but you’re right and the experts agree lino will flex at a different rate than the thin-set and cause cracking or grout and TILE. I helped my friend replace the lino in his bathroom and giant walk-in closet…. I kept trying to convince him we could leave the lino in but in the end we did all the hard lino removal and got the job done right!

I would recommend that anyone thinking of doing this for themselves would take out the vynl it has a high likely hood of cracking the grout and causing lift because it is flexible. good job otherwise
