I wish my basement was that big haha….I bet that turned out great!
that’s a whole other house.
probably 1000 sq. ft of additional living space.
nice job
I just noticed the small portion of an old video right at the end. Just curious, was it not worth keeping?
No problem
I’m looking forward to it!
by the way I am so jealous of you lovely large basement! mine is sooo small! Renovations look great!
Yeah we are installing a sump pump. We dont have must moisture that soucks through the walls… its the floor that is the real problem! I can’t wait for payday to get the pump! But I wanted to just give it its first coat of white paint… just to make it look nicer! Thanks so much for your fast reply!!
I have Part III filmed but not posted yet. Sorry for the delay.
I wholeheartedly recommend Drylok. It is truly awesome stuff. Make sure the water flow problems around the exterior are solved first though, or it’s just a band aid.
The only drawback in using Drylok is that it will really smell up your house for a few weeks after application. The smell will totally go away after 1 month, but plan on living somewhere else for at least 1 week after you apply- the fumes will be extremely strong.
It did leak.
I had the builder dig up around the foundation and patch it up. I then made sure the water flowed properly around the house. This always solves 99% of basement leaks.
The drylok was a “just in case” preventative measure. After the drylok I only had 1 leak, and that was a spot that the drylok paint missed. After patching that up, everything was perfect. I watched it for several months to make sure.
I was just wondering if your basement leaked at all before your renovation…. and if it did how well did the Drylok paint work?
You are right- I didn’t plan this aspect of the basement well. I agree with you fully.
There was a sump in the corner that I surrounded with the walk-in closet. However, I should have made it a tiny closet and then put a big closet somewhere else. (My wife and I need storage space for our stuff)
I still think the screen will be nice, but it could have been a lot better.
Me Too.
I’ll try to have Part III up in the next week. See the comments on Part II on what I’ve completed so far.
Sorry for this late comment, but I like how you said Tower/Shub
Nice..but I think that closet should have been where I would put the screen.
Mkay… I’ll be sure to take off my shoes in part II.
Great basement, I have to say though, listening to you took me back to a time of no worries and play…dude, you sound so much like Mr. Rogers…you know from Mr Rogers Neighborhood, I was waiting for you to sit down and change your shoes. Great basement project I would like to see it with the theater and kitchenette.
Wow that’s a pretty good size space. I think you’re home theater seems to be in the main route to the rest of the basement. Check out the video of my basement (which I just paid Home Depot off with my tax refund)
