Bathroom remodeling...help me ASAP!!!?
I am re-doing my bathroom and I am on a budget. Can I paint the lenoleum instead of replacing it?? Also, can I paint my wooden vanity black instead of replacing it? Please Help me asap!!!

I dont think painting lenoleum will be wise its so waxy, I dont think the paint will hold up or look very good to be honest. And I wouldnt paint it black that will make your bathroom look smaller...paint it a fresh white or a pearl color to keep a clean look and to open it up and match anything. Do you have a Habitat for Humanity near you?? Look it up if your not sure, you can go there for any household item..bathroom tile, maybe lenoleum, borders, vanity's, tubs you name it they prolly got it...people donate stuff there and they sell it tothe public for really cheap to help out people who cant afford a lot. My sis in law works there and they have everything you need to re-do a room, they might even bargain with you. So look it up to if you have one near you.

Bathroom remodeling questions-?
I have a couple questions. First, I am trying to find pictures online of remodeled bathrooms and all I seem to find are large, expensive high end renovations. I am on a budget and have a small bathroom to work with. Its extremely outdated and needs a full renovation, not just replacing a counter top or painting. Does anyone know of any websites that have before/after pictures of regular bathrooms that are new? That dont involve a spacious room with a jetted tub and separate shower etc.
Also for people who have renovated recently, could you tell me what you paid?
Thank you!

HGTV has some sections that focus on smaller prices, especially the pages that cover their show called Get It Sold, which makes an okay house sellable for $2K and often covers cheap tips for bathrooms. Combining these tips can cover a whole bathroom remodel, but only a couple times did they redo most of the bathroom at once. Green bloggers will often cover remodeling older houses sustainably for a decent price.
What you'll want to do more than focus on other people's designs is to make a blueprint of the space on graph paper or in the free CAD program by Google, Sketchup. Take all your measurements and figure out what you need where, and be sure to check with your local codes as to how much space everything needs. I know you're probably going to stick with the layout since you're on a budget and that's GOOD, but you may need a permit if you're doing anything other than cosmetic changes, any plumbing or lighting changes at all, and once you need a permit, you'll need to update to code if there are any problems there. Now that you know how much space you have for your main pieces, go to your favorite home improvement stores' websites and check out their options by category and clicking the layout to show you the options in price ascending. That way, the cheapest one that will work for you is the cheapest you can do it. The same goes for tile. Check out tile prices online by price ascending (sometimes gets complicated by packages of multiple tiles, so look at most of them) and calculate how much square footage you need to cover. Never use vinyl tiles in a bathroom because they're not grouted so mold can get underneath them through the cracks. Sheet vinyl isn't popular but it's now fairly durable so it's worth a look. Menard's has decent tiles as cheap as $0.44/square foot. Don't forget to look up mortar and grout prices and calculate how much you need based on the companies' coverage estimates, easily located through a Google search. You will save a TON of money if you don't move anything and can just replace the fixtures and tile yourself, which isn't terribly difficult with a few people.

Cindy Black of Hello Kitchen an Austin TX Architecture firm dedicated to kitchen design commissioned this project that we just finished. Paul Lamb Architects originally designed this house and it's an amazing home, but the kitchen was cramped & dated. In this video you'll see the before & after. Cindy's design was excellent and we used as green of materials as possible.
