Yeah the going rate seems be about $20,000. I just got mine done and as the above comments says I put my money on the home theater stuff. Doing all the wiring and the planning before is WELL WORTH IT. Good Luck.

I remodel for a living, Do most of the work yourself. Hire all the subs(electrician's plumber`s,carpenter`s etc). Put most of your hard earned money into the theater equipment an bar area. Maybe if your lucky your going for about 15 to 20 grand. "Depends on how big your basement is "! Good luck !
References :
I would make sure your basement will not get water before refinishing it. If you already have a sump pump or drain tiles, great, but if not, I would seriously consider adding one or both. Otherwise you could ruin carpeting, drywall, etc. with the first minor seepage.

I've seem basements done for $15,000 to $25,000, but it really depends on the extent. I would ask a few contractors for ideas so you get a general ballpark of how much of it you want to remodel and what you'll put in there. Try to draw it on paper, too. Will you leave some as storage? Will you have to move pipes to make headroom, etc.?

Here are a few links that can help:

I would need more information? Are you looking for cost of building material or electronics?? Need to know square footage of space to be renovated.Depending on what type of finishes you want in your basement you would be for basic work about $25 a square foot.
