Check your policy before making any phone calls to your insurance agent. Once a phone call is made, you are on record of having a bum shoulder. Even after it heals perfectly, if you should ever have another injury on that shoulder, you may not be covered if you can make a claim at that time.
So, if you check your policy first, then you will know if you are covered. Then you can take the appropriate action once you are informed.
My son had a cracked windshield. He called to see if he was covered on his vehicle insurance. He was not. He replaced the windshield out of his own pocket money. When he renewed the policy, he added glass coverage. Six months later, his windshield broke (a rock from a dump truck) and he went to make a claim. They gave him a hard time because they knew he previously had a cracked windshield. He had to produce a receipt before the would cover the new windshield. Yes, it makes sense. But, just an example that every call is recorded, regardless if you make a claim or not.
